One of those mornings when you wake up and you realise that we have missed something valuable in our race. We went through industrial revolution & embraced technology. But we skipped the knowledge of experience accumulated over centuries from our ancestors the balance with nature, care, unity of the community. They say knowledge is best acquired through experience and more so living it. Progress is it? I thank @paulrene_furniture for giving me an opportunity to model my authentic self For a magazine shoot. This was mind blowing to be in a multimillion Dollar home with high end several thousand dollar furniture and a breathtaking view out of a window that brought such peace to your soul. This king allowed me to wear my head wraps and flawless priceless vintage duster (which is not usual for a brown girl to be highlighted this way in a magazine) and his visions have always been next level. So like this picture because this is a pivotal part of history and go follow him because he deserves the praise. Much gratitude @paulrene_furniture for thinking where you didn’t even see a box. • • • #BeautifulFurniture #MillionDollarView #Arizona #Phoenix #InteriorDesign #FurnitureAndDesign #EliteFurniture #FurnitureWithPurpose #SleekDesign #Natural #HeadWraps #HeadWrappedInVintage #Vintage #StolenHeart #Epic #Ancala #Andrika #AfricanProverb #Essence #EssenceOfBeauty #Beauty

EN| It’s #AfricaDay and we thought we’d celebrate by telling you a little bit about ourselves and why our storytelling is rooted in our African identity. Do you know what our “B” stands for? ✔Brand, of course, we’re all about advocating for purpose-driven brands. ✔Bilingual, since we provide our services in both English and French. ✔And wait for it… Bassa, because our storytelling originates from the Bassa tribe of Cameroon, 🇨🇲 a tribe that has been using storytelling as part of their oral traditions to pass down knowledge from one generation to the next. Speaking of which, here is one of our favorite Bassa expressions: “U beñgè ban likwel, ndi lisendnè”, meaning “Don't look where you fell, but where you slipped.” 👇Now drop your best African proverbs and let’s share some African wisdom. • 📸 @justin_dingwall

Some people take your #confidence as #arrogance. Posted @withregram@africanproverbspage It is better to be diffident in what you know that to be confident in what you don't know. The reason is simple, you can maneuver your way out of what you know and cause irreversible damage in doing what you don't know. The fact that someone speaks with confidence doesn't mean the person is telling the truth. There is a very thin line between arrogance and confidence. Many people who are confident are mistaken for being arrogant while those who are arrogant are often mistaken for being confident. The main difference lies in the way the two look at things. We could say that arrogance is the authority derived from looking down on others whereas confidence is the assurance based on ones ability to do something. Thus, arrogance is based on comparison whereas confidence is based on one's competence. There's nothing wrong with being confident in your ability to do something. There's everything wrong with looking down on others who don't have the same abilities as you have. Knowingly denying your ability to do something is not humility. It's stupidity. The travesty we have today is that people believe in abilities they don't have while others don't believe in abilities they have. Be confident! #TagAFriendToReadThis! #EgyptianProverb #AfricanProverb
